Value Factor is not a typical startup. It is the culmination of a career spent in the trenches of operational excellence, from the factory floor to the boardroom. Our origin isn't a sudden idea, but a gradual, deliberate process of discovery, testing, and refinement, driven by a single, relentless question: What works?
This journey has led us to build a new kind of company: a venture studio designed to translate decades of proven expertise into scalable, high-impact technology products.
Our Model: A Foundry and a Factory
Our "Chassis and Module" company architecture provides the stability for long-term research and the agility for rapid product commercialization.
The Foundry (Value Factor Inc.): Based in Canada, our Foundry is the R&D engine. It is the venture studio where we conduct deep research, develop new analytical frameworks, and incubate the next generation of business systems. It is where the intellectual property is forged.
The Factory (Value Factor, LLC): Based in the United States, our Factory is the commercialization chassis. It is a robust legal and financial platform designed to take proven IP from the Foundry, build it into scalable software products, and take them to market. This US entity owns the Branchwork product and all its associated intellectual property.
This deliberate structure ensures a clean separation between long-term R&D and product-focused execution, creating a scalable platform for a portfolio of future products.
Our Founder
Value Factor was founded in 2017 by Ed Constantine. Ed studied Mechanical Engineering at UNB and MIT. His career started in 1990 at Danaher followed by operations roles at HON Industries. In 1996 he founded Simpler Consulting, a Lean transformation consultancy which is now part of IBM. Subsequent ventures and projects have continued to shape the Branchwork System into what it is today.
Some of the Branchwork System's elements are now being built into the LEAP TechAMP project at MIT, where Ed is contributing as a subject matter expert.
The Branchwork product is built as a secure environment designed for heavy lifting. It's unique because it works.
